Wave Energy Powering the Grid in Hawaii

A wave energy generator prototype is supplying grid power to Hawaii for the first time according to the Department of Energy. The prototype can only produce 20 kilowatts, but the department believes that similar technology could provide clean energy to the entire coast. The results from this trial will be used to design a new generator that will operate in bigger waves at 100-150 ft depths.
