A Third Lease Request Received for Offshore of Hawaii

An offshore wind farm off the coast of Hawaii is moving forward after the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management is currently processing the 400 megawatt lease application. The developer, Progression Hawaii Offshore Wind Inc, plans to develop the project 10 miles southeast of Barbers Point in West Oahu. 400 megawatts is the amount of energy that can be integrated in the Oahu grid. This project is part of Hawaii’s plan to have 100% renewable energy by 2045. For more information on projects in Hawaii, go here.
