Recently Surveyed Wildlife Data for Offshore New York
The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority completed the first two phases of an aerial survey of wildlife in a 16,000 square mile area off the Long Island coast. The goal is to gather data to support offshore wind development as part of the Governor’s strategic plan. The survey will also provide a better understanding of the potential effects of individual offshore wind projects, as well as any possible cumulative effects of multiple wind farms.
