Public Comments Sought on Maryland Offshore Wind Proposal
The Maryland Public Service Commission has started the 180-day proceeding to evaluate offshore wind project proposals, and the public is invited to chime in. Criteria for successful plans include offering long-term price stability, environmental and public health benefits, creating in-state jobs, and a plan to reduce transmission congestion costs. There are two companies currently selected and when one of the projects is approved, construction could begin as soon as 2019.
