Offshore Wind Turbines Headed to Virginia; New Jersey Launches WIND Institute

Components for the first two turbines to be built in federal waters left Denmark on their way to Virginia. The pair of 6-megawatt turbines are part of a pilot project off the coast of Virginia for what is planned to be a much larger array in the future. At the same time, New Jersey opened the Wind Innovation and New Development Institute, a long-term initiative to coordinate offshore wind workforce development and research in the state.
