Offshore Wind in the U.S. Means Added Business in Louisiana
Two Louisiana-based firms are playing leading roles in the U.S.’s first offshore wind farm in the Northeast. The firms both have roots in the oil and gas industry and are now applying that knowledge to the renewable energy field. The steel foundations for Deepwater Wind were designed by Keystone Engineering and built by Gulf Island Fabrication, both of which reside in Louisiana. The innovative design modified existing plans for offshore wind foundations leading to structures that were easier to build.
