Offshore Wind Energy Cable Base Planned for New England
Developers are planning a subsea cable service base in the northeast US to serve the emerging offshore wind energy industry. The facility would include an integrated cable training center to develop the workforce needed to link offshore wind turbines to the regional energy grid. The facility is planned for an existing property, owned by McAllister Towing and Transportation, one of the companies involved in the development.
