New Website Monitors Change in Coral Reefs
With a 40% loss in coral reefs over the last 30 years, the Catlin Seaview Survey is determined to document the current state of our world’s reefs in high-definition 360 degree views. The goal is to document change over time in a clear, straight-forward fashion and help policy makers and scientists see and understand the issues facing coral reefs today. The survey began in September 2012 on the Great Barrier reef and has traveled around the world. The images can be accessed by anyone through a publicly accessible online database.
