New Atlas Gives Access to Wind Energy Data in the Great Lakes
A new atlas for the Great Lakes provides wind energy potential information for the region. Developed by Cornell University in partnership with the Technical University of Denmark, the atlas hopes to help bring offshore wind energy to the region. It combines data from several sources including buoys, weather, and satellite information. The goal is to have these maps integrated with other GIS data in order to get a complete picture of offshore of the Great Lakes.
