North Carolina Governor Includes Money for Offshore Wind Study in Budget
If approved, a one-year, $300,000 study will analyze North Carolina’s potential to manufacture, ship, and service offshore wind turbine components. This analysis has already been done by other states in the Mid-Atlantic and New England regions and would help North Carolina compete. While offshore wind energy is still building momentum in the U.S., many states are working to establish manufacturing supply chains and servicing jobs for all of this development.
