Long Island Sound Blue Plan Open for Comments
With ocean planning off the coast of the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic picking up, having a plan to minimize conflicts and prepare for decision-making is a solid idea. The Long Island Blue Plan was developed to protect traditional uses, minimize conflict, and maximize compatibility now and in the future. It aims to preserve the Sound’s ecosystem and resources while facilitating a transparent, science-based decision-making process. The first draft of the policy is now available and open for comments until November 23.
