Lawmakers Aim to Jump-Start Offshore Wind Energy

Lawmakers in Massachusetts are proposing new legislation that will help to boost the developing offshore wind market. The bill proposes that power companies around the state would have to designate future amounts of power to come from offshore wind for periods between 2016-2018. State Representative Cabral says he believes this bill will help developers secure funding with these future power orders and, therefore, jump-start the industry in the short term.
