The Department of Energy Provides $27 Million for Wave Energy Research Projects

As much as $27 million in federal funding is available for research and development projects designed to advance the efficiency of wave energy with the goal of making the technology commercially viable. The funding from the Department of Energy supports the Biden administration’s efforts to build a clean energy economy and reach a target of net-zero carbon emissions from the power sector by 2050. Projects selected for the funding will undertake their research at the PacWave South open ocean facility, off the coast of Oregon.
