Bird Tracking Study Reveals Some Tracks Cross Through Offshore Wind Areas
The five year bird tracking study, conducted by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and funding by the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, has shown some migration tracks pass through areas slated for offshore wind development but the birds don’t stay there. The maps the study created will inform decisions on whether and where to permit construction of offshore wind turbines from North Carolina to New York.
